Good morning, Lookout Eugene-Springfield,

Lookout’s newsroom was busy last night, as reporters tracked election results from around Lane County and spoke to candidates for their reactions. Here’s what we knew from preliminary results as of 10 p.m. last night:

In the race for the Lane County commissioner representing Springfield District 2, Sean VanGordon held a lead over David Loveall, 51% to 41%. Heather Buch was trailing Jake Pelroy in her bid for a third term for the East Lane District 5 seat, although that race could go to November.

Lane County Measure 20-373, dubbed the Lane County Watersheds Bill of Rights, appeared headed for defeat. The measure was trailing, 64% to 36%.

In Eugene City Council contests, early results showed incumbents were ahead and Jennifer Smith leading the race to fill the council’s only open seat over John Barofsky.

The latest results from all local races and ballot measures are here. Updated results are scheduled to be posted tonight at 5 p.m.
