Looking Glass is planning to keep youth shelter at full capacity through at least August, but a funding shortfall could force the nonprofit agency to make cuts later this summer at its 26-bed PEER Shelter.

When Lovely, purveyor of organic meals and housemade pickles, moved into a bigger space on Main Street, its small corner location became available to Estelle Bakery, which serves gluten-free sweet and savory treats.

Lily St. Angelo wrote about the Middle School Mentor Program in Bethel and 4J. The program pairs adults and middle-school students for a 30-minute lunch once a week, in an effort to give students extra individualized attention and support.

Dorcas Smucker’s column yesterday was sweet, about how a lifetime of camping trips prepared her and her family when her husband suffered a serious injury. (I was with Dorcas recently at a Lookout event, and believe me when I say that Dorcas has fans.)
