Good evening and happy Friday,

Some 96,000 Medicaid enrollees in Lane County are about to be switched from PacificSource to Trillium as the administrator of their health care benefits. State officials and Trillium executives held a “listening session” yesterday to explain the transition and answer questions.

One concern is what happens in cases when a doctor or other provider has been seeing patients via PacificSource coverage, but is not part of Trillium’s network. Trillium officials said they are committed to trying to close the gap so most enrollees will not have to switch providers. Ashli Blow reports.

Lane County sheriff’s deputies said they raided a drug lab near Marcola where butane hash oil was being illegally manufactured.

Of the seven men suspected of being part of a burglary ring targeting Asian American households, two are at large and one has been deported. Jaime Adame has an update on the cases.

A guest column today continues the debate over the behavior of Lane County Board of Commissioners Chair David Loveall, saying another column in his defense missed the point of journalistic coverage of public officials.

By Ashli Blow

As nearly 100,000 Lane County Medicaid members now served by PacificSource are shifted to Trillium, some 15,000 to 25,000 currently have doctors or clinics that not part of Trillium’s network. Trillium officials say they are working to bring more of those providers into its network before the Feb. 1 transition.
