Reducing speeding on River Road has been a longtime push for Eugene Police. As Jaime Adame writes, officers pulled over 35 drivers there yesterday and issued 22 citations.

In his regular feature, The Look Around, Isaac Wasserman has a nice image of Springfield middle school student Ruben Moran playing catch in the street with his dad. Playing in the street is about as Americana as you can get.

The Bureau of Land Management last month announced it would change plans that govern logging in much of Oregon. The state’s Democratic congressional delegation wants to slow things down, and is asking for an opportunity for the public to learn more about the plans and submit feedback.

The Eugene Family YMCA, which has about 18,500 members, is seeking community input on two new facilities. The survey is open until Monday night.

Here’s a Saturday tease for you … Annie Aguiar wrote about the annual Jell-O art show, and tomorrow, she writes about her attempt at making gelatin art. I, for one, look forward to seeing how she does.

We will also cover the third “No Kings” rally, this one in Springfield instead of Eugene, and a Palm Sunday demonstration led by local clergy and congregations at Wayne Morse Free Speech Plaza.
