Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Old Crow Coffee – Warehouse at 6900 Main St., passed a county health inspection on March 19 with no issues. (view report)
     
  • Old Crow Coffee Company – Mu at 6900 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on March 19. The restaurant scored 95 out of 100. The inspector found that the bleach sanitizer used was too strong and was immediately replaced with the correct concentration. Several containers with food ingredients like vinegar, flour, and sugar were not labeled and need proper labeling. Additionally, the gasket on a refrigerator near the handwashing sink is damaged and must be repaired or replaced to keep equipment in good condition. (view report)
     
  • Washburne East at 5807 A St., passed a county health inspection on March 19 with no issues. (view report)
     
  • Subway Sandwiches at 5630 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on March 19. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100 on inspection. Minor issues included missing paper towels at the employee restroom sink, which was fixed during the visit; a dirty soda dispenser nozzle; food debris under equipment and sinks; cracked walls and broken tiles in the kitchen; improperly stored wet mops; damaged and absorbent ceiling tiles needing replacement; dusty vent covers; and insufficient lighting in the walk-in freezer, refrigerator, and restrooms. The restaurant was advised to improve cleaning frequency, repair physical damages, ensure proper mop drying, replace ceiling tiles with nonabsorbent materials, clean vents regularly, and increase lighting to meet health standards.
