Eugene police arrested a 36-year-old Eugene man Monday, Dec. 29 alleging he robbed a bank on Coburg Road and then attempted two other robberies at neighboring businesses.

Justin James Peterson was charged with first-degree theft, disorderly conduct and attempted criminal mischief in the second degree.

Eugene police officers initially responded to a reported robbery at the Key Bank, at 1380 Coburg Road. Soon after, the Papa Murphy’s Take ’N’ Bake Pizza shop on Coburg Road reported a robbery attempt with a suspect matching the description of the Key Bank suspect.

While patrol officers, Eugene police K9 dogs and drone units searched for the suspect, Skeie’s Jewelers on Oakway Road reported a disorderly man matching the description of the robbery suspect attempting to break one of the cases, then fleeing on foot.

A detective located Peterson near the Wells Fargo Bank on Coburg Road. Officers safely arrested Peterson, who was transported to the Lane County Jail.
