A pedestrian died Sunday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle on a county road about a mile north of Junction City, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said Monday, Nov. 3.
At about 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Lane County sheriff’s deputies responded with Junction City police and fire personnel to the crash on Oaklea Drive near Kinney Lane. Fire personnel attempted lifesaving measures, the sheriff’s office said in a news release, but the pedestrian died on the scene.
Officials did not identify the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle, who was not identified, remained on the scene and cooperated with investigators. The Lane County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Team responded to investigate. No criminal charges have been filed, the sheriff’s office said.
