Eugene police arrested a 32-year-old man after a report that he used a phone to record a teen in a bathroom at Valley River Center.

Jordan Skyler Jones, of Eugene, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday, Oct. 28, to second-degree invasion of personal privacy, according to court records.

The charging document filed in Lane County Circuit Court does not specifically refer to recording images. It alleges that Jones “was in a location to observe” someone “in a state of nudity and in a place and circumstances where he had a reasonable expectation of privacy,” and that he did so for the purpose of sexual gratification.

Police on July 9 received a report from the father of a teen boy, who told police that a man had recorded his son in the mall bathroom, according to a statement from Eugene police.

Jones is alleged “to have looked over the partition divider and put a phone in between the divider and back wall,” Eugene police said. The father reportedly confronted Jones and viewed his photo ID.

After further investigation, police found an “indication Jones had walked into different restrooms, appearing to be following groups of young men or boys.” Police arrested Jones on Monday in Coos Bay.
