A 21-year-old woman sustained life-threatening injuries after being struck while riding her bicycle in a crosswalk Friday, Aug. 8, Eugene police said Wednesday.

Bystanders performed CPR on the woman, who was hit at about 7:48 p.m. by a driver in an Audi A4 traveling west on Hilyard Street, according to police. Dispatch records show the collision taking place near East Eighth Avenue and Hilyard Street.

The woman continues to receive treatment after being taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, Eugene police said. The crash remains under investigation, said Melinda McLaughlin, a Eugene police spokesperson.
