Hello from the Super Regionals.

Lookout Eugene-Springfield is here in Austin for Game 1 of the best-of-three series between No. 11 Oregon and No. 6 Texas.

It’s the third time in four years Oregon has reached this round of the NCAA baseball postseason, yet the Ducks are still searching for their first College World Series berth since the program was brought back in 2009.

In Oregon’s way is Texas, whose history is all over UFCU Disch-Falk Field — down to the banners commemorating the Longhorns’ six national championships hanging just above the visiting team’s entrance.

I’ll be providing live updates on this page throughout today’s game. Follow along for photos and insight as the Ducks look to pull off the upset.

Here’s what you need to know before the 5:06 p.m. first pitch.

Live updates:

Top of 4: Oregon’s missed chances adding up

The inning couldn’t have started any better for Oregon with leadoff hits from Lauaki and Molony to put runners on second and third with no outs. Then Volantis countered with a pair of strikeouts and a ground out to end the inning.

The Ducks are now 0-for-8 with four strikeouts with runners in scoring position.

End of 3: Texas 4, Oregon 0

Scolari finally had himself an easy — relatively speaking — inning. Texas gets no runs and no hits. While Scolari did hit a batter, he rectified it by picking off Temo Becerra then striking out Adrian Rodriguez to end the inning.

Top of 3: Ducks come up empty again

Volantis continues to dodge Oregon shots.

This time he stranded the bases loaded — after a Gimenez one-out single and a pair of walks — getting Burke-Lee Mabeus to strike out swinging on a full-count curveball to end the threat.

That’s six runners left on base through three innings for the Ducks.

End of 2: Texas 4, Oregon 0

It was big ball followed by little ball that put Oregon into a 4-0 hole. First, it was Casey Borba who ran into a first-pitch one-out fastball to send a ball into the Texas bullpen. Then, it was a walk, followed by a pair of stolen bases and a sacrifice fly that plated Texas’ second run of the inning.

Oregon’s bullpen is stirring.

Top 2: Ducks in RISP again.

A simpler inning for Volantis, who allowed a one-out bloop double to Naulivou Lauaki but otherwise breezed through with a ground out and pair of fly outs to end the inning.

End of 1: Texas jumps out in front 2-0.

Scolari’s control issues have followed him from the regional round. After walking five batters against Yale, Scolari walked two here in the first inning before allowing a two-RBI double to Texas’ Adrian Rodriguez.

Top of 1: Ducks threaten early

Volantis is imposing. At 6-foot-6, the left-hander has a fastball that sits in the mid-90s and a breaking ball that starts in the heavens and ends in the dirt. Still, he’s not invincible and the Ducks proved that out of the gate when Jax Gimenez led off the game with a slash single through the right side of the infield. Volantis regrouped to strike out Angel Laya and Ryan Cooney next, but Gimenez advanced to second on a wild pitch, then third when another wild pitch walked Drew Smith.

Volantis got Brayden Jacka swinging to end the threat, but a 21-pitch first inning is not how the Longhorns drew that one up.

Pre-game:

4:50 p.m: Scolari gets the nod

Cal Scolari (5-0, 2.70 ERA) has been officially named tonight’s starter for Oregon. Scolari is coming off a strong outing against Yale in the Eugene Regional, where the Reno native didn’t allow a run in 4 1/3 innings of work. It’s an interesting move from Oregon’s standpoint, with the Ducks not electing to throw their ace, Will Sanford, against Texas’ Dylan Volantis and his 9-1 record and 1.94 ERA.

3:30 p.m.: Not that it’s a surprise, but the Longhorns have a heck of a facility. The size of the ballpark feels more akin to a AAA stadium and fans are well into their tailgates here two hours before first pitch.

The rain last night was pretty heavy, but it’s held off today so far. It’s partly cloudy, hot, humid and a firm reminder of why we live where we do.

Here’s a few photos from a stroll around the stadium before getting up to the press box:
