1,029 days later, Eryk Williamson found the back of the net again.

PORTLAND — Eryk Williamson should have been more nervous. 

Saturday’s season opener for the Portland Timbers was the midfielder’s first game since returning from his second ACL surgery in as many years, and just shortly before kickoff he was warming up, looked to his left and noticed something was off. 

“I didn’t get a certain color bib and I’m like, ‘What’s going on? Am I being scratched,’” Williamson said.
