On April 29, Bob Welch’s column touting the success of David Loveall as the savior of downtown Springfield was a blatant song of praise. We learn of Loveall’s business partners from California seeing a Mercedes next to a BMW.

Would that be the same Main Street that David Loveall patrolled with an AR-15 slung over his shoulder in the summer of 2020 during the peaceful protests after the murder of George Floyd? And is this the same David Loveall who was a key supporter of overhauling the Lane County redistricting process in November that was actually an attempted conservative gerrymandering, an attempt soundly defeated by 75% of the voters?

All details easily uncovered in an internet search, but airbrushed out of Welch’s paean of praise.
