A new self-storage facility may be coming to Glenwood.

A company that develops and owns self-storage facilities has purchased land next to Laurel Grove Cemetery. SAFStor, which is headquartered in Atlanta, bought two lots for $1.43 million, according to a deed filed Sept. 2, 2026, in Lane County.

The land totaling 5.75 acres is east of Interstate 5 off Judkins Road.

A Google Maps screenshot shows where SAFStor, a company that develops self-storage facilities, purchased property in Glenwood.

Records also show SAFStor secured a $11.4 million “construction line of credit deed of trust” on the property. This establishes the property as collateral for the loan. The document does not include details about what SAFStor plans to build.

SAFStor did not respond to an email and voicemail from Lookout Eugene-Springfield.

Eugene is among the company’s 80 nationwide projects on its website. It is the only one in Oregon.

There are other self-storage facilities in Glenwood, including U-Haul Storage and Simply Storage, both on Franklin Boulevard.

U-Haul recently built a multistory self-storage facility at the intersection of Highway 99 and Roosevelt Boulevard in Eugene.

According to reporting by The Wall Street Journal, more than 12% of American households rent storage spaces, more than ever before.
