Nick Rohlman grew up in Portland, Oregon and began his career as a photojournalist in Iowa. Nick completed an assistantship with VII Photo’s Danny Wilcox Frazier and worked as a freelance photojournalist for local, national, and international publications before working as a staff photojournalist at the Cedar Rapids Gazette.

During his nearly a decade in Iowa, Nick covered assignments ranging from the 2020 and 2024 Iowa Caucuses to small-town community events. He photographed numerous sporting events while covering local high schools, the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Iowa State Cyclones, including Big Ten and NCAA Championship finals, Caitlin Clark’s career at Iowa, and the inaugural NCAA Women’s Wrestling National Championship Tournament.

While he is grateful to the many Iowans who shared their stories with him during his time in Iowa, Nick is excited to return to the Willamette Valley. He looks forward to working on stories that illustrate all aspects of life in Lane County.

Nick is excited to take advantage of Oregon’s outdoor opportunities and to spend more time in the mountains, the forest, and even in the rain.
