Morning Lookout: LTD service changes, dogs star in Shakespeare

Lane Transit District is making changes to routes that southern county residents will take. It will mean less service for residents, which in turn will require them to do more planning to get around. Ben Botkin reports.

Two canine actors, Brodie and Maisie, are stealing the show in “The Two Gentlemen of Verona,” the only Shakespeare play to feature a dog as an onstage character. Annie Aguiar has this, um, fluffy piece.

Ducks offensive guard Matthew Bedford arrived at UO planning a one-year path to the NFL. But a knee injury limited him to two snaps in 2024. Granted a seventh year of eligibility, he returns in 2025 as an anchor for a rebuilt line. Tyson Alger talked with Bedford.

Crews rescued two sisters who were trapped at a low-head dam on the Willamette River, one of five such incidents already this summer. But no agency is taking responsibility for posting warning signs at the dangerous spot. Ashli Blow has been following this one closely.
