Community crime report

• An assault was reported near W 1st Ave. and Jefferson St. in Eugene at 9 p.m. on Sept. 21.
   
• An assault was reported near E 13th Ave. and Oak St. in Eugene at 7 p.m. on Sept. 21.
   
• A DUII (driving under the influence of intoxicants) was reported near the 5100 block of Franklin Blvd. in Eugene at 10 p.m. on Sept. 18.

Roadwork is affecting traffic near you

• Long-term projects: – Adams Street is partially closed between W 6th Avenue and W 5th Avenue on the west side, and from W 5th Alley north on the east side. W 5th Alley is closed between Monroe Street and Adams Street. Pedestrians can’t use the east side of Adams Street at W 5th Alley or the south side of W 5th Avenue from Adams to midblock near Monroe Street. If you’re walking west on the south side of W 5th Avenue, use the north side at Monroe Street. The eastbound bike lane on W 5th Avenue near Adams Street is closed; bicyclists should detour north on Adams Street to W 4th Avenue, then east to Monroe Street, and south back to W 5th Avenue.
• Construction is happening near the corners of 18th and Hilyard Street this week. Expect delays and possible lane reductions to a single lane.
• Nighttime construction on Broadway at Patterson is happening this week from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. On Sunday night, crews will dig up the west half of Patterson at Broadway, and on Monday morning, they’ll pour concrete for a raised crosswalk on the east side of Patterson. Patterson is closed to trucks, buses, and other large vehicles at Broadway, and these vehicles must detour at Alder Street. This closure will last at least two weeks. The right lane on Broadway will stay closed, with the closure moving east to start at Ferry Lane. Only one lane will be open from Ferry Lane to Patterson Street.
• Crews are working on Patterson Street between E 18th Ave and E 24th Ave this week. They’re removing old road striping and will start installing new striping later in the week. Traffic will be reduced to one lane on the side opposite the work area.
• Chambers Street will be closed between Roosevelt Boulevard and West 2nd Avenue for road repairs on Thursday and Friday, September 24 and 25, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Drivers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
