In-county rivalries highlight girls prep basketball schedule

A pair of girls basketball games Tuesday, Jan. 27, highlight in-county rivalries and feature teams battling near the tops of their respective conferences.

In the 5A-2 Midwestern League, Springfield travels to North Eugene for a 7 p.m. Tuesday tipoff. The Millers (3-0 league, 14-1 overall) are a half-game behind league leader Crater (4-0, 13-3), but the Highlanders (3-1, 9-7) are lurking right behind in third place.

In the 3A-4 Mountain Conference, second-place Pleasant Hill (3-0 league, 13-3 overall) hosts third-place Creswell (2-1, 11-6) Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Both teams trail first-place Sisters (3-0, 14-3) in a competitive conference with five of its six teams boasting winning records.
