The ski season had a late start across most of Oregon. With multiple atmospheric rivers showering the Willamette Valley with warm rain, many ski resorts saw muddy grass instead of snow through December.
During the past week, though, a flurry of snowfall helped a few Oregon resorts get the ski season started — though with early-season conditions and limited lifts and trails open.
Willamette Pass
After recent storms delivered 5 inches of snow, Willamette Pass Resort will open its bunny hill area at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26. Only the Sleepy Hollow lift and the magic carpet will be operating.
The area will be open daily through Jan. 4.
Hoodoo Ski Area
Currently, Hoodoo is closed.
Mt. Bachelor
The resort is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., subject to conditions. The Little Pine, Pine Marten, Red Chair and Skyliner lifts, as well as the Chipmunk Carpet are expected to be operating.
Mount Hood Meadows
Mount Hood Meadows will be open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For now, only Daisy, Easy Rider, and Buttercup lifts, and the Ballroom Carpet are operating.
Timberline Lodge
Timberline Lodge is open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., though at the moment, only Bruno’s and Pucci lifts are operational.
