Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Springfield Vfw Post 3965 at 5344 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on June 16. The restaurant received an inspection score of 87 out of 100. Key issues included: expired refrigerated food items, such as half-and-half and spicy tomato mix, which were discarded; improperly packaged vacuum-sealed chicken that lacked a timestamp, which was removed from public consumption; damaged sanitizer test strips, which were replaced; dirty nonfood-contact surfaces, including racks and filters, that need regular cleaning; and missing tiles in the kitchen that require repair. All violations were corrected during the inspection. (view report)

  • Grill & Go at 3444 Main St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on June 16. The restaurant received a score of 95 out of 100. The inspector noted that the mobile food unit was not clearly identified, but this was corrected by adding proper signage. Additionally, there were issues with openings that could allow pests to enter, which have now been sealed. Lastly, the three-compartment sink initially lacked a proper air gap for backflow prevention, but this has also been fixed. All violations were addressed and corrected. (view report)
