PacificSource said it will cut ties with Medicaid at the end of the year. That’s creating uncertainty for the 92,000 people in the county who currently receive Oregon Health Plan coverage via PacificSource. What happens now? Ashli Blow has this explainer.
Jaime Adame wrote a devastating story about the life of Daniel Kahn, who came to Oregon from Texas seeking consistent mental health treatment and housing support. Instead, Kahn died July 30, shot in a drive-through car wash after being chased by police officers. Springfield police say Kahn earlier stabbed two officers, both of whom survived.
On the lighter side, Lillian Schrock-Clevenger got to meet a real live grammarian over the weekend at the Art House. (Real live? That’s probably not grammatically correct.) And Tyson Alger looks ahead to the Ducks’ biggest test so far this season, coming Saturday, when Oregon goes to Penn State, currently ranked No. 3.
