Let me ask you a real question:

What would your life feel like if your renovation didn’t steal your peace?

No chaos.
No “we’ll get to it next week.”
No surprise invoices.
No ghosting.
No mess that lives in your house for months.

Just a clear plan, a clean process, a team that shows up… and a finished result you’re proud to live in.

Because the truth is—most homeowners aren’t scared of spending money.

They’re scared of being trapped in a bad process with the wrong contractor.

My name is Ryon Harris, founder of Carter Family General Contractor.

And I didn’t build this company from comfort.

I built it from pressure.

I come from a tough background. My father died when I was six. My mother became an alcoholic, and I held her hand on her last breath. My sister took her own life. My brothers struggled with addiction. I was emancipated at fifteen.

So when people ask me why I’m intense about structure… why I’m relentless about follow through… why I refuse to let jobs drift—

It’s because I learned early that when things get hard, character is the only thing that holds. Construction didn’t just give me a career. It gave me a way to build stability when life didn’t offer any.

Even after the 2008 crash—when a lot of people gave up—I kept moving forward. I became a professional fighter just to stay sharp, focused, and disciplined. When the market came back, we went back to work—and we built, and built, and built.

Not just projects.

A standard. A reputation. A company that doesn’t fold under pressure.

And if you’re wondering why the company is called Carter Family when my last name is Harris—this is the part that means the most to me.

My father was adopted into the Harris name. His name should have been Clifton Carter. Later in life I met my grandfather—Sheryl Henry Carter—a successful farmer and inventor who managed hundreds of acres.

Meeting him changed how I saw myself.

When you grow up poor, you don’t just lack money—you often grow up with a low sense of value. But when you meet a man like that, and you realize he’s your blood… it gives you a new vision of what’s possible.

The name Carter Family is a reminder—every day—of strength, legacy, and building something that lasts.

So here’s what this 12-month sponsored series is about:

Not ads. Value.

We’re going to show homeowners in Eugene and Springfield how to make smart decisions—how to avoid expensive mistakes, how to protect property value, how to plan realistic timelines, and how to choose the kind of builder who makes the experience feel organized instead of stressful.

Because yes—we build homes and renovations.

But what we really build is what families want most:

Certainty, stability, and confidence in the process.

And if you’ve ever felt like you couldn’t trust contractors… you’re exactly who I’m writing this for.
