As we approach the end of 2025, we want to reflect on the positive outcomes we have achieved this year thanks to our neighbors’ unwavering support. Your generosity fills us with optimism and hope for our community’s future! We also want to assure you that every donation you make in support of St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County (SVdP) makes a tangible difference in the lives of many of your most vulnerable neighbors — like all those pictured here.
Looking to the new year, we know there are challenges ahead for those we serve, many of whom rely on the social safety net for healthcare, food access and rental assistance. The increasing precarity of critical assistance programs so many in our community depend on to survive means the nonprofit social services, affordable housing, and homeless and shelter programs provided by SVdP are needed more than ever. But as we mobilize to meet increasing community need, we also must navigate more than a million dollars in funding reductions that have impacted our homeless and emergency shelter programs.

So this holiday season, your gift will help us bridge the gap in our community’s social safety net. Together, we can make sure that our most vulnerable neighbors will not face the uncertainty of the months ahead alone. We can ensure that all in need can seek refuge in the safety and warmth of shelter and housing this winter.
Your contributions are the building blocks to a support network for those who have fallen into homelessness and poverty. Last year, that safety net meant 569 families experiencing homelessness could turn to First Place Family Center for shelter, food, and resources to help them back on their feet; that elderly individuals on fixed incomes could access subsidized housing to age in the safety and comfort of their forever home; that 193,539 meals kept people from going hungry; that 1,528 of our neighbors were sheltered on dangerously cold nights in Egan Warming Centers; and that more than 400 people transitioned out of homelessness!

In the spirit of this season of giving, please join us to safeguard our most vulnerable neighbors. Your support will mean we have the resources to address impacts of homelessness and poverty and ensure everyone spends the holidays with food on the table, sheltered from the cold, embraced by a supportive community. Your year-end-gift will help sustain our community’s social safety net for our neighbors struggling with housing insecurity, homelessness, and economic hardship. You can make a secure online donation here.

Our sincerest thanks for your ongoing support, and we wish you the happiest of holiday seasons!
