QuickTake:
Creswell’s boys and girls teams remain in the hunt for state titles, while the Highlanders and Spartans prepare for home playoff matches.
Four Lane County prep soccer teams have reached the semifinal rounds in championship tournament action, and two of them — North Eugene-Triangle Lake and Marist Catholic — have home games Tuesday afternoon.
Here’s the roundup:
Girls soccer
6A
Sheldon learned why Portland’s Jesuit is the top-ranked team in 6A girls soccer: The Irish were shut out by the Crusaders in an 8-0 quarterfinal drubbing Saturday, Nov. 8. The loss eliminated the Irish from the state championship tournament; the team finishes its 2025 campaign with a 13-3-2 mark, including two playoff wins. Jesuit has yet to give up a goal in its three tournament games — and has scored 21.
5A
Top-ranked North Eugene-Triangle Lake was tested Saturday by No. 9 La Salle Prep, but escaped with a 2-1 overtime win in the tournament quarterfinals. The Highlanders (now 16-0) advance to a 2 p.m. semifinal match Tuesday at North Eugene against Bend’s Summit High School, a 3-1 quarterfinal winner against Silverton. On paper, the game looks evenly matched: Summit (12-2-3) has scored 63 goals and surrendered eight, while the Highlanders have scored 57 and have allowed just four, the best mark in 5A. The two teams met Sept. 8, with North Eugene winning, 2-0. The winner advances to the championship game Saturday, Nov. 15, at Hillsboro Stadium. The time of the championship game has yet to be determined.

Top-seeded Marist continued its dominant tournament run Saturday with a 5-0 home victory against North Marion-St. Paul. The Spartans (15-1-1) have yet to give up a goal in the playoffs — and have scored 15 in two games thus far. Next up for Marist: A semifinal match Tuesday at 5 p.m. against the No. 4 seed, undefeated Henley (14-0-2). On paper, the game appears to pit Marist’s potent offense — 97 goals scored thus far — against Henley’s stingy defense, which has surrendered just three goals all season. The difference here may be that the Spartans play tough defense as well — they’ve allowed seven goals this year. The winner advances to the 4A championship game Saturday, Nov. 15, at Liberty High School in Hillsboro. The time of the championship game has yet to be determined.
3A/2A/1A
No. 3 Creswell knocked off Umatilla 3-1 in Saturday’s quarterfinal round to win a slot in the semifinals. They’ll play a noon game Tuesday against No. 2 Amity at McMinnville High School. The Bulldogs (15-1-2) have won twice in the playoffs by playing tough defense, just as they have all year — they’ve given up just six goals while scoring 59. On paper, though, Amity (15-1-1) will test that defense: The Warriors have scored 85 goals, best in the 3A/2A/1A ranks, and have surrendered 11. The winner advances to the 3A/2A/1A title game, Nov. 15 at Liberty High School in Hillsboro.
Boys soccer
3A/2A/1A
Both Bulldog soccer teams have made the state semifinals this season, but Creswell’s boys team had to play a little longer than the girls. Playing on the road, the No. 5-seeded Bulldogs upset No. 4 Dayton 2-1 in overtime in Saturday’s quarterfinals. Their reward: a semifinal match 6 p.m. Tuesday against No. 1 Catlin Gabel in Portland. On paper, Creswell (15-2) may have a slight edge on offense — the Bulldogs have scored 83 goals against the Eagles’ 71. Defensively, the Eagles have held opponents to 18 goals this season, while the Bulldogs have surrendered 22. The winner advances to the 3A/2A/1A championship game Nov. 15 at Liberty High School in Hillsboro.
