Community crime report

  • A hit and run was reported near 1410 Orchard St., Eugene at 2 p.m. on April 1.
     
  • A person was arrested after a dispute near 480 E Broadway in Eugene at 10 a.m. on April 1.
     
  • A fraud was reported near 1038 E 21st Ave., Eugene at noon on April 1.
     
  • A person was arrested for criminal trespass near 631 E 19th Ave., Eugene at 11 p.m. on March 31.
     
  • A person was given a citation for criminal trespass instead of being taken into custody. This happened near 1551 Mill St., Eugene at 10 a.m. on April 1.
     

Roadwork is affecting traffic in the region

  • Long-term projects: Columbia Street at East 17th Avenue is closed for construction work on stormwater, wastewater, and electrical utilities. Traffic is being detoured via Agate Street and Moss Street to East 19th Avenue. Pedestrians can use the north side of East 17th Avenue, but mid-block access on Columbia Street is closed on both sides. Bicyclists should use Agate Street to the west and Moss Street to the east. Paving work is happening on East 24th Avenue, Hilyard Street, and Alder Street, but the impact on traffic is expected to be low.
