Restaurant inspections

County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.

  • Blu Mist Restaurant And Bar at 2840 Cresent Ave., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on February 4. The restaurant scored 86 out of 100. Inspectors found no soap or hand drying supplies at sinks in restrooms, the bar, kitchen, and near the soda machine, and both dishwashers lacked proper sanitizer and detergent solutions. The restaurant corrected all issues by providing soap and paper towels at all handwashing sinks and ensuring both dishwashers have the required sanitizer and detergent. These corrections were verified during a follow-up inspection, and the restaurant must maintain these standards at all times. (view report)

  • Southpine Bakery Llc at 2866 Crescent Ave., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on February 8. The restaurant scored 95 out of 100. The inspector found that the dishwasher’s chlorine sanitizer was too weak at 10 ppm, but after the manager adjusted it, the sanitizer level was corrected to 100 ppm, meeting safety standards. Additionally, a spray bottle containing a clear liquid was not labeled, which is required to prevent confusion. The manager labeled it as peppermint oil. Both issues were fixed during the inspection.
