- A new neighborhood has been rising in the Thurston area of Springfield, with about 170 homes built so far, and about as many still planned to come. Lillian Schrock-Clevenger spoke with a new resident, and explains how it fits in with the city’s overall housing needs.
- A spat has erupted among Oregon Democratic lawmakers as they begin preparing for a special session. Sen. Mark Meek emailed his Democratic colleagues just before a caucus meeting this week saying Rob Wagner should resign as Senate President.

The Eugene native, a star baseball player, decided to walk-on to the Ducks football team, becoming a star on the gridiron as well. After being drafted by the Houston Astros, he decided to return to UO for one more year, to focus solely on football.
