Lane County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue personnel Thursday, April 9, found the remains of a 63-year-old Eugene man missing since March 2025.

Jonathan Allen House had last been known to be in the 25600 block of Hall Road, roughly 8 miles southwest of Junction City, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.

In a news release, the sheriff’s office said there were no indications of any crime in connection with House’s death. Lt. Tim Wallace said an autopsy will be done as part of “standard procedure” for a missing persons case.

Last year, an intensive search by the sheriff’s office lasting more than a week included search dogs and drones. Searchers also spent some 40 hours analyzing cellphone data and reviewing security and game camera photos and video.

Volunteer searchers returned Thursday to the Hall Road area with a sheriff’s office detective and found House’s body in an area dense with vegetation, according to a news release. Searchers used chain saws and other tools to clear a path and reach House’s remains.
