A 62-year-old Springfield man who police say is a soap-bubble performer has been charged with sexually abusing children.
Patrick Corey O’Neill — whom police say is known as “Corey” — has performed at the Oregon Country Fair and also in Eugene and Springfield, including at local parks, according to Springfield police.
O’Neill is also described by police as having been a babysitter for families. Police say they have identified two victims allegedly abused by O’Neill.
He was arrested Tuesday, June 23, and has been charged in Lane County Circuit Court with first-degree unlawful sexual penetration, two counts of first-degree sodomy and four counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Charging documents list the abuse as taking place between Jan. 1, 2023, and June 9 of this year.
