A 40-year-old Eugene pedestrian died Saturday, April 25, after being struck by a vehicle in the unincorporated community of Green near Roseburg in Douglas County.

Vivian Kuntz was struck at about 11 p.m. while crossing from Grant Smith Road toward Highway 99 without a walk signal, Oregon State Police said in a news release.

A 38-year-old Roseburg man driving west with a green light in a Ford Focus struck Kuntz near a junction of Highway 42 and Highway 99, State Police said.

Highway traffic was affected for about four hours after the collision, State Police said, with Central Douglas Fire and Rescue, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Winston Police Department, and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisting at the scene.
