If you could give any gift to the city of Eugene, what would it be?
That’s the question the City Club of Eugene has been posing to community members every year since it launched in the early 1990s.
At the club’s Friday, Dec. 19, meeting — its last for 2025 — a number of presenters will answer the question. The meeting begins at noon at WOW Hall, 291 W. Eighth Ave.
Gift suggestions can be whimsical, serious, offbeat, ironic, amusing, challenging — whatever speakers would give if they had this magical power.
Presenters include SLUG Queen Hilaria Gastrognome, Richard Green, Demond Hawkins, Jensina Hawkins, Terry McDonald, Andy Vobora, Blake Burrell and Heather Quaas-Annsa and several past City Club of Eugene presidents, including Mary Leighton, Kathy Madison, Eric Richardson and Marty Wilde.
City Club of Eugene meetings are free to attend. Lunch will be available for $15.
The program will be livestreamed on the club’s YouTube channel, and video from the meeting will be posted on the channel. City Club of Eugene meetings are rebroadcast Mondays at 7 p.m. on KLCC, 89.7 FM.
The City Club of Eugene explores significant local, state and national issues. Membership is open to all. The club’s next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 9.
