QuickTake:
Kids in Eugene and Springfield can use one $60 pass to visit pools, museums, a bowling alley, a trampoline park and more, all summer long.
Families in Eugene and Springfield still have time to purchase a 1Pass card for their children this summer, according to the Eugene and Springfield recreation departments.
Kids 18 and younger can use the passes to access activities in the area during the summer for a one-time cost of $60, according to Willamalane Parks and Recreation District in Springfield. Cardholders scan their card each time they visit a destination.
The locations include swimming pools, museums, a mini golf course, a trampoline park, a bowling alley, a disc golf course and more. This year’s pass also includes free admission to all Springfield Drifters games and $5 tickets to Eugene Emeralds games.

Passes went on sale May 16 from Willamalane and Eugene Recreation Services. Passes can be purchased online from each of the department’s websites and are valid June 16-September 1.
Springfield Public Schools also offered district-paid passes to students who signed up online to enter a lottery in April. Whitney Hoshaw, marketing and communications manager at Willamalane, said all students who entered the lottery — more than 3,600 — received a 1Pass.
Willamalane created the 1Pass program in 2012 and has added to the number of participating destinations since then. The City of Eugene joined the arrangement in 2016, adding all the Eugene pools to the list of activities.
The early 1Pass provided kids with a Lane Transit District bus pass. LTD now offers free student transit passes, which kids request through their schools. The recreation departments choose 1Pass destinations that are along bus routes, making it easier for students to get to activities.
The Eugene 4J School District did not purchase 1Passes for students this year, said a City of Eugene spokesman.
The 1Pass program uses a revenue sharing model to reimburse destinations for their participation, and the more scans a business or location receives, the bigger their reimbursement, according to Willamalane.
In 2021, after businesses reopened following the COVID-19 pandemic, the 1Pass sold out for the first time. Since then, the program has capped available passes at 11,000, split evenly between Eugene and Springfield.
On June 3, Eugene had about 650 passes left and Willamalane had fewer than 300, Hoshaw said.
