I recall that the Eugene, Cascades & Coast Sports Commission was trying to get an indoor sports facility that would generate $91 million in the first five years, and would provide jobs for more than 10,000 Lane County residents. What has become of this?
All they have accomplished over the years is to get rid of the Eugene Emeralds after the 2027 season.
With the talk recently of wanting to use the former Royal Caribbean building, and of wanting to remove the Lane County History Museum from the Lane Events Center, I just wonder: With all the directions they have gone, do they know what they are doing? Have they really taken the time to think this out?
This has gone on for so long. They want this indoor sports facility, but from what I’ve seen, they have no clue of how to get it. At this point, what trust would you have in them running such a facility?
It is obvious that they really could care less who gets hurt along the way.
