Raised among northern California’s coastal redwoods, Korrin moved north to earn her degree from the University of Oregon (go Ducks!). After graduating, she headed to Washington, D.C., where she co-founded a women’s wilderness group, leading dozens of women on their first backpacking and hiking trips. She’s since adventured across the country, living in South Dakota’s Black Hills and Tennessee’s Great Smoky Mountains before returning to Oregon to root back into the Pacific Northwest.
Some of Korrin’s favorite adventures have included solo kayaking the 99-mile Wilderness Waterway in Everglades National Park and hiking 800+ miles of trails in the Smokies. She’s currently section hiking the Pacific Crest Trail through Oregon, working on her Oregon Naturalist certification, and appreciating the abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities throughout Lane County.
As Lookout’s outdoor recreation correspondent, Korrin aims to help readers connect with their outdoor community and make Oregon’s nature spaces more accessible to all skill levels.
