I do not know who Greg Bryant is but his guest column about our trees and the priority they should have with every building permit granted by the city deserves a medal. I have not read something so concise, factual and relevant in a long time.

As a member of the Save Videra Oak Meadow group, we are desperately trying to stop the Piculell Properties from razing one of the few oak meadows in our city with vital wetlands, drainage and beauty in the southwest hills.

I would love Bryant to join that fight. We need many more like him in this town, on the City Council and in the planning department.
