Lane Community College will celebrate its 61st commencement Saturday, June 13, honoring 1,383 graduates, who are earning a total of 2,104 associate degrees and certificates.
The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. in the LCC Gymnasium (Building 5) on its main campus, 4000 E. 30th Ave., Eugene.
In addition, 55 students are earning their General Educational Development, or GED, diplomas from the college this school year.
About three of every five LCC graduates this year are first-generation students — the first members of their families to attend college, according to a news release from LCC.
Their ranks include Amanda Fallon, a former vice president of LCC’s student government, and one of the featured speakers during Saturday’s ceremony.
About 55% of LCC graduates this year are studying in a career technical education program, earning certificates or associate degrees.
The remaining graduates, about 45%, have earned transfer degrees. Fallon, for example, plans to study anthropology and art history at Portland State University.
Fallon represents another important LCC demographic: She is among the 46% of LCC graduates this year who are 25 or older, and considered nontraditional students.
The 2026 graduating class also includes students from 18 countries, including Australia and Uzbekistan, with most international students coming from Japan and South Africa.
In addition to Fallon, other speakers at Saturday’s ceremony include LCC President Stephanie Bulger, Board of Education Chair Austin Fölnagy, LuAnne Johnson, who teaches in the college’s Business Department, and Tim Woolley, the president of IEQ Technology in Springfield.
Kori Nyamute, an LCC music student and 2026 graduate, will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
The event will be livestreamed. For more information, visit lanecc.edu/commencement.
