Crater visits Springfield in girls prep basketball showdown

A Friday, Jan. 30, battle for first place in the 5A Midwestern Conference between Springfield and Crater highlights the week’s schedule of girls basketball games.

The Millers (5-0 league, 16-1 overall) have won 16 straight games and boast a No. 2 ranking from the Oregon School Activities Association. The team hasn’t been seriously challenged since a 57-52 win Jan. 6 over Cascade. 

The No. 4 Comets (5-0 league, 14-3 overall) have won 11 in a row. The game tips off at 5:30 p.m., Friday.
