Joe Liebersbach’s column reframing the stereotype of villainous, polluting industries as potential partners in our life-impacting quest to reduce our carbon footprint was thought-provoking.
It would greatly accelerate cleaning up our world if we could join forces with industry owners who realize that the wellbeing of our planet results in their businesses thriving as well. I admit that I was pleasantly surprised at some of the companies that he named. Clearly defining what each of the businesses he named is doing in the interest of sustainability and environmental awareness was enlightening to me.
If we all can take a step aside from our righteousness and open our eyes and our minds to stop pointing fingers at those who we are convinced are “the problem,” we might come up with even more ideas on how to save our finite resources.
The column was truly a refreshing approach in naming our local businesses who are taking steps to be part of the solution.
