Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- Cafe Yumm! – #100005 at 3340 Gateway St., passed a county health inspection on September 24 with no issues. (view report)
- Dutch Bros Coffee at 3256 Gateway St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on September 24. The restaurant scored 92 out of 100. Inspectors found that the sanitizer solution used for wiping cloths was not strong enough and needed to be properly mixed to meet safety standards; this was fixed immediately. Additionally, a bottle of dish soap was missing a label, which is required for safety, and the staff promptly labeled it. Both issues were corrected during the inspection. (view report)
- Panda Express Restaurant at 3264 Gateway St., passed a county health inspection on September 24 with no issues. (view report)
- Chick-fil-a – Gateway at 3450 Gateway St., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on September 30. The restaurant scored 94 out of 100. The inspector found that a handwashing sink behind the sandwich area did not reach the required water temperature of 100°F, but this was fixed by the reinspection with the sink now measuring 106°F. Additionally, some dairy products were incorrectly date-marked for 8 days instead of the required 7 days; this was also corrected by the reinspection to ensure proper 7-day labeling. Both issues were promptly addressed and resolved. (view report)
- Taqueria Oaxaquena – Warehouse at 1491 Mohawk Blvd., was cited for issues during a county health inspection on October 2. The restaurant scored 97 out of 100. The inspector found that the warehouse was improperly used to store open and prepared foods, which is not allowed; only unopened packaged foods should be stored there. There were fresh rodent droppings in the warehouse, indicating a pest problem that needs to be addressed. Additionally, gaps and holes around the warehouse doors and walls allow pests to enter and must be sealed or protected with screens or self-closing doors to prevent insects and rodents from getting inside. Immediate corrections are required to fix these issues. (view report)
