QuickTake:

The crash probably occurred a few days before the car was found in dense brush, down an embankment, the sheriff's office said.

Sheriff’s deputies and police on July 7 discovered the body of a missing Junction City woman inside a car about 30 feet down a Territorial Highway embankment northwest of Eugene.

Mary Ann Snoddy, 62, had been reported missing days earlier and is believed to have been the driver in the single-vehicle crash, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office said July 8. Junction City police assisted sheriff’s deputies in responding to the scene.

Social media posts had described Snoddy as missing since July 1, after leaving Veneta to return to her Junction City home.

The vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, was found in dense vegetation in the 91300 block of Territorial Highway, about four miles south of the small community of Cheshire, and about 10 miles southwest of Junction City.

The crash probably occurred several days before the vehicle was found, according to the sheriff’s office.
