As a fellow Eugene Water & Electric Board commissioner, I have had the privilege of working alongside John Barofsky for the past five years. Having seen his leadership in action from the inside, I am proud to endorse him for Eugene City Council.

In our time serving together, Barofsky’s integrity has consistently stood out. We haven’t agreed on every issue, but he has demonstrated his ability to lead with thoughtfulness and curiosity. I have seen him change his mind on complex decisions by asking probing questions, gathering feedback from constituents and remaining committed to doing what’s best for the community.

Barofsky understands that a thriving city requires a delicate balance. He possesses a genuine commitment to expanding affordable housing so our workforce and families can stay rooted here.

Simultaneously, he is a staunch advocate for the quality of life improvements — like safe parks and reliable services — that make our neighborhoods feel like home. Most importantly, he does all of this with a strict eye on fiscal responsibility, ensuring our tax dollars are treated with the respect they deserve.

Our council needs members who understand the local challenges we are facing today and know what good governance looks like. I encourage my fellow Ward 3 residents to join me in voting for John Barofsky for Eugene City Council.
