Restaurant inspections
County officials regularly inspect food facilities to ensure compliance with state laws. Here, Lookout Eugene-Springfield reports both those who have passed the inspections and those where the county observed issues to correct. The county’s full ongoing reports can be accessed here.
- Main St. Coffee Co. at 4429 Main Street, was cited for issues during a county health inspection on February 26. The restaurant scored 92 out of 100. Inspectors found raw pork sausage stored above eggs, risking contamination; this was fixed by reorganizing all raw and employee foods properly. A dish soap container was unlabeled, but all chemical containers were labeled clearly during the inspection. Some refrigerators lacked properly placed or working thermometers; the restaurant was instructed to install accurate easy-to-read thermometers in the warmest spots of refrigerators and coolest spots of hot food units to ensure safe food temperatures.
